Co-op — Halo: Campaign Evolved

Four-player crossplay co-op, split-screen hosting, and revive mechanics for Halo: Campaign Evolved CE remaster—including Operation: METEORITE and Campaign Remix lobbies.

Overview

Halo: Campaign Evolved supports up to four players in online crossplay co-op across PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The full 13-mission campaign—including three Operation: METEORITE maps—is playable cooperatively with shared checkpoints, pooled Skull unlock progress, and downed-state revives.

Campaign Remix lobbies let the host stack Skull modifiers before launch—Thunderstorm, Catch, and custom Evolved mutators apply to all four players. Difficulty and Remix settings sync to guests; Legendary Iron co-op runs require unanimous ready confirmation.

Crossplay Setup

Enable crossplay in Settings > Account > Cross-Platform Play on console, or accept the Steam crossplay prompt on first launch. Xbox and PlayStation players need platform online subscriptions; PC players sign in with a Microsoft account linked to Steam app 2806050.

Invite friends through the in-game Social tab or platform overlay. Party size caps at four for campaign; Operation: METEORITE missions enforce synchronized drop zones so mixed PC and console squads spawn together on Legendary.

  • PC — Microsoft account linked to Steam 2806050
  • Xbox Series X|S — Xbox Live Gold / Game Pass Ultimate
  • PS5 — PlayStation Plus required for online co-op
  • Crossplay toggle — on by default after first prompt

Split-Screen Host

Console players can host two-player split-screen co-op on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 while still inviting two online guests—four total Spartans in one fireteam. The host console renders at a dynamic resolution target; both local players share Skull progress and Campaign Remix modifiers.

To start split-screen, sign in a second controller on the title screen, then select Co-op Campaign from the main menu. Guest accounts on the second pad do not need Xbox Live or PSN if they play locally only; online slots still require active subscriptions.
